The Mission of the City of Keene Fire Department is to provide levels of excellence in emergency, prevention, education and community services to minimize loss of life and property damage due to fire, hazardous materials, medical and other emergencies in an efficient, professional and fiscally responsible manner.
Vision Statement - We will serve our community as a team of highly trained and dedicated professionals committed to the core values of the fire service.

We are proud of our department and pride ourselves in staying ahead of the changes in technology that impact us on a daily basis. KFD operates out of two fire stations, Central Station located on Vernon St. and Station Two located on Hastings Ave in West Keene. Central Station houses 10 pieces of apparatus including two engines, two ambulances, two brush trucks, one ladder, tanker, rescue, rescue boat, along with two HAZMAT trailers a utility truck, fire prevention truck, and three Command Staff Vehicles.
Station Two houses, one quint, ambulance, brush truck and the fire alarm truck. KFD provides fire and rescue services from these two stations to the City of Keene, the Town of Roxbury and the North Swanzey section of the Town of Swanzey. We also provide advanced life support service to surrounding towns and Hazmat response to a three county area.
