Fire Department

The Keene Fire Department asks that as you dig your way out of this most recent storm, please shovel a path to the fire hydrant closest to your home. In a fire, seconds count. It could be your house or your neighbor’s home that you help them save by finding and clearing a path and shoveling out the hydrant.  While outside, check your vents, too. To help prevent a carbon monoxide hazard, residents are asked to make sure furnace, hot water and dryer vents are clear of drifting snow. And also clear snow from vehicle tailpipes.

The Mission of the City of Keene Fire Department is to provide levels of excellence in emergency, prevention, education and community services to minimize loss of life and property damage due to fire, hazardous materials, medical and other emergencies in an efficient, professional and fiscally responsible manner.
