Police Officer
The Keene Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Selected applicants with the minimum qualifications listed below must pass a physical fitness test, oral board, intensive background investigation, polygraph examination, psychological exam and a medical exam. Applicants must be presently employed as a full-time Certified Police Officer or have been employed as a full-time Certified Police Officer with the last twelve months.
Minimum Qualifications: All applicants for the Keene Police Department must be United States citizens; high school graduates, or possess a GED certificate; be at least 21 years of age; and must have successfully completed full-time Police Officer certification. College education and/or military experience are highly desirable.
General Duties: Duties include patrol of an assigned area for the purposes of crime prevention, law enforcement, and providing for general public safety. This may include the investigation of crimes, identification and apprehension of offenders, traffic enforcement, accident investigation, and providing emergency services. Applicants should have excellent communication skills and a history of demonstrated common sense and sound decision-making. Applicants must be able to analyze situations quickly and objectively. Starting salary is $41,912 annualized with an extensive benefits package. Work week is 40 hours, working four days on and three days off.
