HOW TO APPLY FOR MOST POSITIONS
Thank you for your interest in a career with the City of Keene. Employment listings are updated regularly and may include a wide variety of job opportunities within local government.
Depending on the instructions in each individual job posting, you may apply for posted positions in one of three ways:
· Complete an online employment application using our Web Application.
· Complete a paper application, which may be picked up between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or may be downloaded here, then return, or mail (address is below), it to Human Resources.
· Mail your resume and letter of transmittal to Human Resources, City of Keene, 3 Washington Street, Keene NH 03431-3192.
It is the City's aim to employ the best-suited person to fill each position based on required standards, training, experience, and abilities to succeed in this professional service organization. Employees are not required to reside in Keene, although employees in some positions may be required, as a condition of employment, to live within a certain radius of the work location to facilitate emergency callbacks.
POLICE OFFICER RECRUITMENT

SEASONAL PARKS, RECREATION & CEMETERIES POSITIONS
Summer seasonal positions with Parks, Recreation and Cemeteries usually are recruited beginning in February. For Parks & Cemeteries Maintenence, download the application here. SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM
The Summer Youth Employment program recruitment, dependent on the operating budget, usually begins in April. This program is four 14- and 15-year-old Keene residents. Read more here.
A background investigation is carried out and references are checked by the City prior to anyone's employment. Depending on the position, a pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and/or psychological examination also may also be required. All records are safeguarded in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
