Teen Activities

Looking for something to do during the week? Come to KPRD Teen Center! Check out the game room that has four flat screen TVs, Wii System, Kinect System, Pool Tables and Ping Pong. High School Students only! Join us on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday Nights from 7-9PM.  Pick up your Recreation Center ID or pay the daily fee to come play!

High School Dodgeball Tournament

  • Where: Keene Recreation Center

  • Time: Check-in at 6:30 PM Start playing at 7:00 PM
  • Cost: Sign up that night $20 Per Team

ADULT ACTIVITIES

Snowshoe 3K at Wheelock Park! Race starts at 9AM
Grab your snowshoes and come on out to Wheelock Park on Saturday, January 31st for our first ever Snowshoe 3k! This race will take you through the park. Register online at www.keeneparks.com or stop in the office. Participants must have their own snowshoes to take part in this activity.  Pre- registration is $25 per person and registrations after January 2nd will be $30 per person. All proceeds will benefit our Program Scholarship Fund!

Cheshire Walkers

            KPRD and the Cheshire Medical Center Community Wellness Program present weekly walks and hikes in Cheshire County. These walks are held Wednesday mornings, weather permitting. Please dress appropriately for the weather, wear sturdy shoes and bring water. Please leave dogs at home. These walks are looking to start in September and run through October. Check back to our website for more details.
            No pre-registration needed, just come. Call 354-5454 ext 7837 for information.

Craft Fair Dates

Craft fairs are run by the sponsoring organizations, not the Recreation Department, so if you are interested in being a vendor, please call the organizations directly.

Christmas Concert

The Westmorland Town Band will perform their annual free Christmas Concert in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Recreation Center on Friday, December 19th from 7:00-8:30:00 PM. Cookies and beverage will be served. Come and enjoy the Christmas music and get in the holiday spirit.

Zumba Classes

Zumba® - It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party™ that’s moving millions of people toward joy and health.

Zumba with Marissa on Monday and Wednesday 5:30-6:30 PM $5 per person per class.  Fall in love with Latin music and rhythms.  Classes are high energy yet easy to follow and you will always feel welcome.

Zumba Gold with Pam on Tuesday and Thursday 10:30-11:30 AM; $40 per person for the ten week session.  Sign up now, session begins September 11, 2014. Zumba gold is a bit slower paced, designed for beginners and the young at heart.

 

RECREATION CENTER INDOOR WALKING

Walking is available at the recreation center during the summer from 7:00AM-2:00 PM Monday thru Friday in either the gym or multi -purpose room.  An annual ID card is required at a cost of $10 and may be purchased at the main office.  Current Senior Center members are eligible for a free walking pass.

Schedule changes will be posted in advance when possible. If you enjoy walking outdoors, take advantage of the walking path around the triangle of Fuller Park, in front of the Recreation Center. Seven times around equals a mile! You are also welcome to explore the trails around Goose Pond, Robin Hood Park, and the local bike paths. The Recreation Center has brochures for the nominal fee of 50 cents that give the locations of Keene’s Parks. There are also more detailed maps of the Goose Pond/Drummer Hill area for sale.

  PLAN YOUR PARTY NOW!

 KPRD has the responsibility of scheduling use of Central Square, Railroad Square and the Robin Hood Park amphitheater. Request forms are available to reserve spaces in these parks, some reservations require a nominal fee. The Recreation Center also has rooms that may be rented for parties, classes and events. Stop by 312 Washington Street, call the office at 357-9829 or download the necessary reservation form at www.keeneparks.com and fax to us at 1-603-283-5661. Most reservation forms may be submitted online also.
