CHALLENGER SOCCER
STARTING AUGUST 17TH
KPRD and Challenger British Soccer Present Soccer Camps for 3 to 12 year olds August 17th-21st at Fuller Park, at the Recreation Center. Sign up online before July 3rd to receive a Free Jersey.
FIRST KICK: Ages 2-3, $80 11:00 AM—12:00 PM
MINI SOCCER: Ages 4-5, $104 9:00 AM –10:30 AM
HALF DAY: Ages 6-12, $140 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
A $10 late fee will be added if registration is completed after August 8th.

Youth Tennis Lessons 

STARTING JULY 6TH
KPRD will be offering one session of group tennis lessons with Bill Hay. Register for these classes at the Recreation Center and learn the fundamentals of tennis!
Cost: $60 per child.
•U-10 M/W 9:30 AM-10:30 AM July 6th thru July 22nd
•U-14 T/Th 9:30 AM-10:30 AM July 7th thru July 23rd

YOUTH HORSESHOES

STARTING JULY 8TH
KPRD and the Keene Horseshoe Club will offer youth Horseshoe instructional classes at the horseshoes courts located in Wheelock Park starting on Wednesday July 8th, 2015 through August 5th, with a cookout for students and parents on August 12th. These classes are for children in the 5th grade or older. Classes will run from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. There will be a small tournament with trophies provided for the top 3 finishers.

Register through June 26th at the Recreation Center. Cost for the series of lessons is $25. Sign up early, as the numbers are limited for safety reasons and time constraints.

PEANUT CARNIVAL

THURSDAY AUGUST 13TH
The annual peanut carnival will be held on Thursday, August 13 at 6:00 PM at the Recreation Center. Booths, novelty games, shows and concessions all made by the playground participants and staff make for a fun evening. Peanuts are bought and used in place of money for each event. Please be aware that this is a peanut-free event! Peanuts cost 50 cents a bag or 3 bags for a $1.00. Rain date is Friday, August 14. Don’t miss the biggest event of the summer.
This event is co-sponsored by the Monadnock Marauders and Keene Sentinel.

There will be no late pick up at the playgrounds on this day!

CHESHIRE CATS JUMP ROPE TEAM

STARTING IN OCTOBER
Join the brand new Cheshire Cats Jump Rope team! Learn the basics of single rope, Double Dutch, Chinese Wheel, speed, freestyle, and much more. No experience or personal equipment is necessary, just a willingness to play hard, support your teammates, and have fun.
Ages: Grades 3-8, younger students accepted with instructor permission
Cost: $35.00 per child. Contact the Recreation Center for registration information and deadlines

Swimming Pools

Keene’s 2 municipal pools, located in Robin Hood Park and Wheelock Park, open for the summer months! Our typical hours are 12:00 PM to 5:45 PM on weekends, 3:00 PM to 6:45 PM weekdays until school is closed.  Once school closes, the pools will open at 1:00 PM weekdays.  The daily admission is $2 for children 6 thru 17 and $4 for ages 18 and older.  Season passes may be purchased at the Keene Recreation Center.  Cost for Keene residents is $35/single child’s pass, $45/single adult pass and $75/family pass. Non-Residents fees are $45/single child’s pass, $60/single adult pass and $105/family pass.  Residents who show a valid Medicaid or Healthy Kids insurance card will receive a season pool pass for $10.00, regardless of age.

Swimming Lessons: Swimming lessons are taught at both pools by Red Cross trained Water Safety Instructors on weekday mornings Monday-Thursday.  No lessons on Friday.  Cost for Keene Resident is $30/per person and $45/per person for non-residents.  Ages 5 (entering kindergarten) and older.

Session I: Registrations will be at KPRD on Saturday, June 20th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Lessons will begin on Tuesday, June 23rd and run thru July 16th.
